Terms and conditions

1. Scope and applicable law

These terms apply to consumers and businesses purchasing physical products through the website. Hungarian law applies without depriving consumers of mandatory protection granted by the law of their country of residence.

2. Ordering and contract formation

Product selection, cart review, customer and delivery details, shipping method, payment review and the final order button form the ordering process. Before submitting, you can correct entered data. The order is an offer to purchase. An automated receipt confirms arrival of the order; the contract is concluded when we separately accept or dispatch it. The contract is concluded electronically and is not filed as an individually accessible written contract.

• The language of the contract follows the language selected in the store or at checkout.
• Please check the product, model, size, quantity, delivery address and total before placing the order.
• We may reject an order for an obvious pricing error, unavailable product, failed payment or suspected misuse; any amount received will be refunded.

3. Products and natural materials

Our products contain real wood veneer and are assembled partly by hand. Grain direction, knots, colour and shade vary naturally; screens and lighting can also alter perceived colours. Minor differences between photographs and the delivered item, fine transitions and small fitting gaps between veneer elements are inherent to the material and craft, provided they do not impair normal use or durability.

• Surfaces may be treated with natural wax or lacquer, as identified in the product description.
• Waxed surfaces may deepen in tone and develop a patina; lacquered surfaces may change subtly through light and use.
• Keep products away from prolonged moisture, excessive heat, strong solvents and abrasive cleaners.
• This notice does not exclude or restrict statutory remedies for defective performance.

4. Prices and payment

Prices shown in the selected market and currency include applicable taxes where stated. Shipping and any additional charges are shown before the order is submitted. Available payment methods appear at checkout and are processed by the displayed payment provider; we do not receive full card data.

5. Delivery

Every item is carefully packed in damage-resistant packaging. Orders are handed to the carrier within 7 business days. GLS home or workplace delivery is available in Hungary and throughout the European Union, usually within 1–2 business days after dispatch. In Hungary, Foxpost parcel lockers and MPL postal delivery are also available. Delivery times may vary by location.

6. Withdrawal and returns

Consumers in the European Union may withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days of receiving the goods without giving a reason. In addition, we currently offer a 30-day return request period for eligible unused goods in their original condition and packaging. • The consumer bears the direct return cost unless the goods are defective or we agree otherwise.
• The consumer is responsible only for diminished value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
• The statutory withdrawal right does not apply to a non-prefabricated product made to the consumer’s instructions or clearly personalised. Ordinary catalogue variants are not treated as personalised solely because they are produced after ordering.

7. Defective performance

Consumers retain all mandatory rights concerning conformity, statutory warranty and product warranty. A claim can be submitted at info@marquetryworld.com with the order number and a description or photographs. Natural variations described before purchase are not in themselves defects, but this never affects claims relating to damage, faulty construction or a product that does not match its description.

8. Complaints and dispute resolution

Please first contact us at info@marquetryworld.com. Written complaints are answered within 30 days. If no agreement is reached, Hungarian consumers may contact the Győr-Moson-Sopron County Conciliation Board: 9022 Győr, Szent István út 10/A; bekelteto.testulet@gymsmkik.hu; +36 96 520 217; https://bekeltetesgyor.hu. Consumers may also contact the competent consumer-protection authority or a court. The former EU Online Dispute Resolution platform ceased operation on 20 July 2025.

9. Final provisions

We may update these terms prospectively. The version displayed when the order is placed applies to that order. If one provision is invalid, the remaining provisions remain effective.
