Our craft

What exactly is marquetry?

Many mistake it for a printed pattern, but with us every line is real wood. Marquetry is the interplay of the natural colours and grain of precious woods — cut with laser precision and assembled by hand in our workshop.

Step 01

Selecting the veneer

It starts with the wood. We select 0.6 mm veneers of walnut, maple and ash for their natural colour and grain — since no two trees are alike, no two pieces are identical.

Step 02

Cutting with laser precision

Each element of the pattern is cut using advanced laser technology, so every line stays true and every joint closes to a hairline.

Step 03

Assembling the inlay

The pieces are assembled by hand like a puzzle, pressed onto the base and sanded level until the surface reads as one continuous piece of wood.

Step 04

Finishing with natural wax

Every wooden insert is treated with natural wax. It lets the wood breathe, keeps the colours vivid and leaves a soft, velvety, water-resistant surface.
